On August 11, BOCOM Leasing successfully delivered an A321neo aircraft to Wizz Air on the Airbus Hamburg Assembly Line. On the same day, BOCOM Leasing fully communicated and coordinated with airlines, Japanese Operating Lease (JOL) investors and banks to seize the time window and complete the project financing within a very short period of time after the delivery of the aircraft. As a result, not only full financing was obtained, but also extremely low overall project financing cost was achieved through the JOL structure. BOCOM Leasing will continue to deliver another two A321neo aircrafts to Wizz Air during the year.

The lessee, Wizz Air Group, headquartered in Hungary, is the largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the top-ranked low-cost carriers in Europe. This cooperation is another initiative of BOCOM Leasing to implement the "One Belt, One Road" strategy and promote cooperation with CEE countries to better benefit the European economic circle. This model of aircraft - neo uses a new more efficient engine to significantly reduce fuel consumption, noise and nitride emissions, which conforms to the consistent green financial philosophy of BOCOM Leasing, and also fully reflects the good social corporate responsibility and sustainable development philosophy of BOCOM Group and BOCOM Leasing. The air transport industry was hit hard during the COVID-19 outbreak. Air travel is recovering strongly as global COVID-19 control gains some traction and as many countries provide significant support to the airline industry. According to the regular data of the air passenger transport market of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in June this year, the total demand for air passenger transport in that month increased by 76% compared with the same period in 2021.
